Zephaniah 2:1-3...Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;  Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord’s anger come upon you. Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger.

I count it an honor to grace this pulpit while my pastor is away.  I also count it an honor to give you the message of a Living God.   I have a simple message, but it is one I think is very needful.  It is about seeking God. We seek and we find.  It is awesome to think we are in the presence of Jesus Christ, but that is where we are.  I am so glad this is a “God Honoring” church, a praying church, a place where we gather ourselves together and ask Jesus to come in; every Sunday Jesus shows up and gives us a blessing.  It is refreshing to know that people love God in this church and are not afraid to show their love.

Prayer makes a church strong and here at Pleasant Run, we spend a lot of time in prayer. Astera and I feel so blessed because we came here.  We feel we have found a “House of prayer.”

Seek ye the LordWhen we seek something, it means we look until we find it.  That is what we should do with Jesus….Seek until we find Him.  I want to be a Christian that has the joy, the victory, and the grace with Jesus Christ in my heart. I want to have so much of Christ that He is going to show on the outside as well as inside.

Jeremiah 29:13 -- And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.  Folks, God knows when we are seriously seeking Him.  He is the one who guides us and He is the one who will be taking us home.  We need to give Him our rebellion and our attitude. We need to seek God’s favor.  I want to have His seal of approval of every aspect in my life. I want to hear Him one-day say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

11 Chronicles 7:14...If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.

It amazes me how people think they can live a life of rebellion and still be in the will of God. If we as God’s people will call upon His name, He will not turn us away.  Folks, we need to do a whole lot of praying for our country for the shape of suffering it is in.  Right now at this point He is the only one who can help us.

Luke 11:9...And I say unto you, Ask, it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

I have prayed and prayed for things for years.  Some of my prayers have yet to be answered, but I will never give up and I never get discouraged, because I know He will take care of the situation in His own way and in His own time.  I am one of the beneficiaries of Heaven because of what He did on the Cross for me.  He did it for you, too. But every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that He is Lord.  Jesus is my friend, my brother; how can I not love Him.  Never give up on your praying.  Seek and ye shall find, knock on His door and He will open it to you. Today, the Lord is alive and well. Amen!

Isaiah 1:18... Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be as wool.

If you were willing to come to Jesus it does not matter what your sins have been, God will clean you up. I honor Him today because He cleaned me up.  Before I was saved I was black with sin, but He cleaned me up and made me as white as snow.  Seek after righteousness; it will lead you down the pathway of goodness and mercy.  When God speaks, things are going to happen.  We must humble ourselves to His will.  I think one of the hardest things I ever had to do was to get rid of my pride.  We need to be humble.  One of the big things today is preachers trying to do things in their way instead of what God wants.  God honors humility.  One of the greatest acts of humility was when Jesus stepped up to that old cross and hung there in shame.  We must strip ourselves of all that old pride and become humble in order to be in God’s favor.

What stands between you and God today?  Are you letting Him down?  I am so glad we have a God of second, third, and even fourth chances.  He never runs out of blessings. I invite you to renew your faith today at the altar.
